Gobble, gobble (at least the male turkeys do seasonally when sleepy)

I made Katie some play food for Thanksgiving. She loves her roast turkey. She gives it hugs and kisses. I hope she isn't too traumatized when she finds out where turkey dinners come from.

Yes, the drumsticks detach.

Punkin' Pie

Thanksgiving morning we ran the Turkey Trot. Here's K and Daddy bundled up to race.

Mawhner/Grandma's favorite trotters.

Our racing team ready to run! Jon is not happy I used my whole neck to smile in this picture.

Can you tell what I am most thankful for? No, it's not the stroller! Guess again.

We had an early dinner at Grandma/Mawhner and Granddad's. Look Jon's "don't show the teeth smile" is possibly a family trait.

Here's Memaw T cookin' it up. You know it was good!

Halloween - The Real Deal and Aftermath

Here are a few pics Granddad and Grandma, or Mahner as Katie refers to her, took on Halloween.

While K was celebrating at home with the grandparents and cousins, Jon and I were in NYC carbo loading on spaghetti! I saw Elmo - and a few less appropriate costumes - on Times Square.

The next day we ran 26.2 miles.

Then had pizza and dessert.

This video is of Jon after the marathon. Watch the little old lady pass him! A man offered us $20 to pay for a bike cab across the park. Jon looked so pitiful the man didn't think he could make it. Jon gutted it out to the next park bench for a little rest. Then he was fine.

Thanks for helping Jon raise support for Team for Kids and his first marathon!

Back at home, right when we really needed to catch up on laundry, errands, and housekeeping, K and Mommy were hit with nasty colds. This book makes K-T feel better.

I have read it 15 times in 3 days. So if you ever need help with your horse...

K's First Marathon - A Halloween Preview

It's just a costume. She didn't really run a marathon, yet I swelled with pride when I pinned her bib number on! K wore her costume to music class today. There was a puppy, fairy, pirate, and this Gabba Gabba guy. I'll post official real deal Halloween pictures after the weekend. Promise.

Katie Knievel and More

Carrie and I were both in the room, mapping a run on the computer, while Katie set up this stunt.

Carrie went running and then Katie and I rode around McKinney and then met up with Carrie to give her some water. It was a nice morning.

Remember (to go to) the Alamo!

Here are a few picks from our 4th of July weekend trip to San Antonio. We stayed with my friend, Lauren's parents. They live just outside of San Antonio in a beautiful home surrounded by trees. We got too busy and hot to make the trek to the Alamo, but Katie had the best time visiting with Keegan, one of Lauren's nephews.

K & K checking out the view. I am sure they are hatching a plan to escape and climb that tree.

Gidget and Moondoggie

What a sweet helper!

I had to include this picture since it appears that I am running just a bit faster than Ryan, a Boston Marathon runner!

Morning Jog

I have been asked how Katie likes riding in the jogging stroller. Judging from her state when we arrived home this morning, I believe she finds it very relaxing.

1st Thanksgiving and 2nd Christmas Tree

Katie loves Thanksgiving. Rather she loves the Thanksgiving menu. She fed herself green bean casserole, dressing, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie.

She liked it all. After food, Katie is most thankful for having a big dog to climb.

Jon and I ran the Turkey Trot so we could enjoy our Thanksgiving feast guilt free. I ate lots of ranch dressing. Yum!

It is K's first Christmas season, but she is on her second tree. We put her first tree up today. Jon trimmed it with 400 twinkle lights. I carefully arranged all the ornaments on it. All that remained was wrapping the stand with the tree skirt. I broke the stand while attempting to scoot the tree. It crashed to the floor. I screamed. Jon yelled. Katie woke from her nap with a start. It was a disaster. Jon was too distraught to even allow me to take a picture of our wrecked tree. Jon exchanged the tree for one with a metal stand. We should be good to go now.
