Hoppy Easter!

The Easter Bunny brought new reading material and jelly beans.

A tisket, a tasket, every year they make me sit in a basket!  Not this year, because she thought it was dirty.  Even lined with a blanket, we could only convince her to stand.

Jon is ready for the royal wedding!

It's egg shaped.

After egg hunting, K had the best time splashing her feet in the pool with cousin H.

Grandma put nail polish in the Easter basket.  Hooray!

Last year, I worried about Katie getting the gist of Easter's meaning.  Even this year, she hasn't completely grasped it.  She does know that it involves Jesus and his "tune".  Not bad.  Getting warmer.  However, she did think there was a gorilla painted on the screen at the Good Friday church service.

The Big Orange Pumpkin Farm

On Saturday evening, I told Katie that she could wear her candy corn dress to the pumpkin patch the next day. I forgot to mention to her that she would be wearing it to church first. She was more than a little upset with me when she found out that detail. But as you can see in the picture, all was well again by the time we arrived in pumpkinland.

Look, Piglet, I can do it too!

How much does Daddy love Katie?

This picture is going on my list of all time favs. Love the belly peeking out while she swipes a pumpkin. Good thing I forced her to wear the leggings!!!

Is she making eyes at him? A few friends from church met us at the farm. This little guy was showing off his muscles. She knows this little boy well enough, but insisted on calling him "Him".

Sunday Report Card

Papa calls every Sunday to get the report on Katie's total crying time in the nursery. You know we've had some bad weeks if this has become a regular call! If you don't count the crying in the car on the way to church, or the wailing in the parking lot, then today's 5 minute total is not too shabby. That's a 2 hour and 55 minute reduction from her greatest crying triumph at VBS. The picture is after church. Once we pick her up, it's like the tears never happened.

The Flower Girl at Carlee's Wedding

Hanging out with the minister (Papa) before the wedding.

Getting petal strewing tips from Cousin H.

This girl loves a twirl.

More twirling...
The above photo is deceiving. It appears that Katie stood with the bridesmaids during the ceremony. Not the case. She did a beautiful job on the processional and recessional aisle walk, but chose to sit with her mom (that'd be me!) during the ceremony.

The most beautiful bride in the world (at least until K is old enough to get married - heehee!)

Apologies to the groom. We were sorta obsessed with photographing the flower girl and took no pics of him!

Hoppy Easter

I tried to teach Katie the meaning of the holiday this year. Pretty sure she missed the point somewhat. During my explanation of Christ's resurrection she chimed in with, "I like chicks." I'll keep trying.

This is the first year we have attempted egg dyeing with the Kate. Now we know she doesn't mind the taste of vinegar.

Egg dyeing at Aunt Diane's

I don't think Katie was the only one tasting the dye. Bryce was sampling it too.

The glamour girl awaits the arrival of her glamour cousins at Grandma and Granddad's.

A family photo at Grandma and Granddad's

Brisket, ham, baked potato, roll, green bean casserole, and salad

Egg dyeing round 2

Egg threats

Jon taught Katie to say, "Daddy's handsome." Yes, he is!

Strawberry-orange shortcake tart (I forgot the salt! Oops!)

After church, we drove to a scenic area to take pictures of K in her fancy ensemble. Of course she does her cutest pose in front of the parked cars!

Aaaaahhhhh!

Katie's ready for a swim - ha!

Egg hunt at my Aunt Diane's. I wonder how Katie convinced Bryce to put eggs in her basket.

Here is the best group shot of my family. A little different from our posed shot with Jon's family. Ha!

Easter Basket

Here is the annual Easter basket photograph and the prior two for comparison.

She's 2

Birthday tradition #1 - Take a photo of the birthday girl first thing in the morning. Goal for next year is no paci in the morning picture.

Gift from us - a "pit ball" like Katie's friend Jenna has at her house.

Birthday tradition #2 - Eat cake for breakfast! Thanks for this idea, Mrs. Linda!

Katie requested Grandma's "black" cake.

Monkeys at the zoo.

Photo of the first official terrible two tantrum. K was there to see animals and ride trains. She had no patience for our lunch break.

The birthday dress!

Included this one for Meme. It reminds me of a picture she has of me at the zoo looking at lizards when I was itty bitty.

Too tired to finish her banana on the ride home.

Great 2nd birthday!
Party this weekend!
