Birthdays and Mothers Day!

Abbey recently celebrated her 8 year old birthday!  Katie helped out with putting a crown on her, reading her card, and giving her some cake!

On May 4th we celebrated Carrie's birthday who wished for the picture on the blog to exclude her.  K was, well not quite sure what she was doing while I was serving cake and coffee!

K and I went to get some presents for Carrie.  We gave her some flowers tonight!

Yes the baby is near!

K having fun outside!  She is sporting her Big Sis shirt.  Earlier today we went to a sibling class which she loved!  Baby will be here soon!

Pregabulous (24 weeks and 1 day)

24 weeks and Baby Bundt is the size of a large zucchini.  Hmmm...obviously not a precise measurement.
Comparing our bellies - I win!
Feeding veggie Baby Bundt to the dog after the photo shoot is starting to worry me.  I just know if I leave the room after BB arrives, K is going to be feeding her to Abs as a snack.

pregerrific (16 weeks)

Here's the belly at 16 weeks along.
I'm allowed to run now, so the belly is all late night buttered popcorn and Baby Bundt.

Big Sis sends a lil' magic to B. B.
It seems K thinks the baby is located in my chest.

Baby Bundt is now the size of a russet potato.
Grow, baby, grow.

Abbey loves the potato baby a lot.
Abbey doesn't understand using food for anything other than devouring.
Now Katie says, "Abbey ate Baby Bundt."

Seasonal and weather appropriate props below.

Christmas Bath

Abbey gets a bath as often as she smells like Noah's Ark.  She is careful to deodorize weekly with her Bath Junkie perfume spray, so I won't tell you how long it takes for her to reach the ark stench.  This is Kate's first time to help Daddy with the task.  I am sure the lil' helper made Abbey feel completely at ease ;).

Abbey is getting her Christmas gift tonight.  A new bed.  Yea!  It feels like a new start.

Lucky 7

Abbey is 7 years old. Her birthday was Thursday, but we celebrated on Friday. She chose to go to Double Dip for a poochie cone. Her she is waiting for her cone.
CrAzY eYeS!

Yes, I forced the dog to wear the party hat I made for K's birthday. It is nice to have one child that can't reject your handmade craftiness. And now the cone is gone!

Party guests included:

Granddad

Grandma

Daddy

Mommy (not pictured - which may be the best thing about being the photographer.)

and Katie

Love these pics. Grandma made a comment about how ladylike and careful Katie was while eating her cone.

Things did get a lil' bit unladylike at the end. It was a night I was glad I carry around a 200 lb. diaper bag with a spare outfit in it. Being prepared finally pays!

Christmas Eve

Merry Christmas! Surprise, Surprise - snow in Texas. It was 73 yesterday and we went to the park, rode bikes, and Carrie ran and it was quite warm. Now it is cold and snowing. Here are several pictures from our short adventure outside to play in the snow.

Musical Invention & A Good Dog

Katie created this chair xylophone with map pencils while I made dinner.

Abbey is a good dog. We should feature her on the blog more often.

Rainy Days and Mondays...

...aren't getting us down. We have the September Cookie of the Month, the latest installment of Jon's Christmas gift, to snack on this rainy Monday. These are Neverland cookies - White Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Macadamia Nut. Not sure the history on the name. I think it is a Peter Pan, not Michael Jackson, reference. No staging of the dog in this pic. Abbey just happened to be in the shot. It works though.

Katie had a play date with her cousins' cousin Cadyence. Say that three times fast! Again I marvel at how anyone can capture two or more children in one photograph. Here is my best shot of the girls eating crackers. And just think on it - in 8th grade I dreamed of being a photographer when I grew up!

I guess Abbey didn't want to see them go...
